Sarajevsko Dark Lager from Sarajevska Pivara is new to the US, but as been brewed in Sarajevo since 1864. ABV 4.9%
This beer is dark mahogany to black in color with an opaque body and a 1 cm bubbly head that's tan brown & reduceds in size fairly quickly but still covers the surface. On the nose you get roasted malts & light chocolates, some earthy notes and subtle coffee. On the palate, the taste is roasted malt, dark bitter malts & chocolate with a hint of caramel and light sugars. It's medium bodied & smooth, a lingering malt bitterness & well-carbonated with a sharp, dry finish. Well-balanced overall.
